On 25 June, I am going to BritMums Live 2016 – known as BML16. It’s a blogging conference organised by Britmums and I’m really looking forward to meeting so many new people and learning lots!
So, in anticipation… here’s my introductory post to wave to other bloggers that are going…
My name: Kelly Edwards
My blog: Bringing up Georgia
Find me on social media at:
How I look: Curly brown hair with blonde highlights, glasses and a smile. You can see my pic! It’s highly likely that I’ll be wearing some form of stripe too… but who knows.
Is this my first blogging event? No, my first was last November when I went to Blogfest and loved it so much I just had to sign up for BML16 as I definitely had FOMO last year seeing the pictures from BML15.
I will be wearing… Clothes I hope… I haven’t yet bought anything to wear for BML16, but now feel a shopping trip brewing… Maybe a stripy dress? Or jeans and a nice top? Which would then mean I’d need new shoes. Oh what a shame… ;o)
What I hope to gain from #BML16: I hope to learn more about how to improve my blog. But more important than that, I hope to meet lots of other bloggers that I’ve talked to online but haven’t met in the flesh before!
My tips for a great conference: The more effort you put in, the more you get out. That goes for meeting new people and making the effort (I usually have to have words with myself over how silly I’m being) to say hello, to writing notes from sessions. I also find it useful afterwards to create a list of the top 5 things that I’ve taken away – along with creating a plan of action for how I’m going to change things up and when I’m going to do it. Setting myself deadlines to act on the information I’ve learnt has come in handy to make sure that that buzz that you feel after attending a conference doesn’t dim over time.
So if you see me, please say hello!!
